Lex Thielen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Lex Thielen & Partners. With over three decades of legal practice, he is recognised as a reference point in Luxembourg for complex civil, commercial and corporate matters. His focus includes real estate, inheritance, company structuring and cross-border enforcement.
He advises a wide range of clients, from individuals and business owners to global corporations and institutional investors. His strategic thinking and legal insight are backed by extensive courtroom experience and a deep understanding of Luxembourg’s evolving legal framework.
Lex brings a solution-focused mindset to every matter, combining legal precision with bold thinking. He is known for his determination, clear judgment and ability to approach challenges from different angles. His method begins with listening, followed by structured analysis and direct, honest communication with clients. He is committed to building long-term trust through clarity, efficiency and a refusal to compromise on integrity.
Lex is the author of five widely cited legal reference books, including “Le contrat de bail“ and “Le droit de la construction au Luxembourg“. Both have been referenced by Luxembourg courts and are considered essential texts for legal practitioners. His academic background includes a first-ranked Master’s degree in Law and a European Law Certificate from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he also served as a university tutor.
In addition to his legal practice, Lex has served as mediator in criminal matters (appointed by the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice), honorary consul of the Republic of Estonia, and founder of several civic and professional associations. He also teaches the legal aspects to facility managers at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
He advises clients in Luxembourgish, French, German, English and Spanish, and has working knowledge of Italian, Portuguese and Russian.
